Yoga is bad for you.
That is a statement I never heard from anybody ever. But I will say it now and I will also explain when it is bad for you and why.
Yoga is bad for you if:
1. You are in competition with the person next to your mat.
Yoga is about an inner journey. All your attention should be on yourself. You shouldn't even bee seeing the others while you practice.
2. You are doing it to gain some kind of mental powers over others (manipulation etc)
Yoga is about learning to be humble and learning how to help yourself, how and when to offer help.
3. If your doing it to prove something to someone or to show off you flexibility
Yoga is about learning to be honest with yourself and accept yourself every step of the way. And also to learn to be yourself in all situations and with everybody the same person. It teaches you how to loose your masks and be yourself.
4. If you practice with your mind elsewhere.
Yoga is about learning presence. Be present in your body and be present in your breath. Be present in the moment. Be present for the journey.
In all the above situations is bead for you because you are missing out on the purpose of yoga. You are missing out the great teachings of this practice. You will loose your time and also eventually you will end up with physical injuries like back pains, ankle pains, broken bones and ruptured muscles.
